Our Vision for the Future

At Voices Against Domestic Violence Network, our vision is to provide a complete and lasting solution for survivors of domestic violence. We believe that true healing begins in a secure and supportive environment and that independence is built on a foundation of holistic support. Our mission is to guide survivors from immediate crisis to long-term stability, helping them every step of the way as they reclaim their lives.

The Next Step in Our Mission

With an average of 2,000 domestic violence calls to law enforcement in Sonoma County each year, our mission is to be law enforcement's, first responders', and victims' go-to resource for a reliable and immediate response. When funded appropriately, our 24/7 hotline will immediately jump into action to quickly house abused victims, assist with legal aid, provide counseling, and offer the resources needed to help them get back on their feet.
To fulfill this vision, our long-term goal is to secure funding for two dedicated facilities—one for men and one for women—to provide safe, long-term housing for domestic violence survivors.
These facilities will be more than just shelters; they will be centers of community and empowerment. Each building will be designed to provide a comprehensive, all-in-one solution for survivors, with living quarters on the upper floors and all our core services located on the first floor.

The first floor of each building will feature:

  • 24/7 Crisis Call Center: A round-the-clock lifeline for immediate intervention, crisis support, and a direct, confidential path to our services.
  • Nonprofit Offices: A professional and welcoming space for our staff and volunteers to operate.
  • Resource & Learning Center: This dedicated space serves as a hub for growth and connection. It's a large, multi-purpose room where survivors and their families can participate in skill-building workshops, find support in group settings, and engage in a variety of community events. This center is designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to rebuild their lives in a supportive and collaborative environment.
  • Child Care Center: A safe and nurturing environment for survivors' children while parents attend counseling and training.
  • Counseling Suites: Private offices for confidential counseling sessions.
These buildings represent a complete solution—from immediate safety to long-term independence. Your support today brings us one step closer to making this vision a reality.
