Our Impact
"A Path to Safety and Justice"
In the early days of this mission, I received a late-night call from a survivor in a critical situation. Trapped and isolated after an incident of domestic violence, they had nowhere to turn. I was able to get to them quickly and transport them to a safe location where they could begin to heal.
What followed was just as important. The survivor faced legal hurdles, including a false accusation. Drawing on my experience as an advocate, I was able to support them through the legal process, working with the District Attorney's office to ensure that justice was served. Ultimately, the charges were dropped, allowing them to finally begin a new, free life. That single case taught me the overwhelming need for an organization that provides immediate aid and unwavering support. It showed me that helping a survivor through a single act of kindness can change everything.
"Finding Strength to Let Go"
In another case, a young person found themselves in an unhealthy and unsustainable relationship. Motivated by compassion, they tried to help their partner overcome personal struggles, but found themselves isolated and facing immense emotional and financial strain. We provided a safe, confidential space for them to speak openly about their situation and guided them toward professional counseling.
We helped them understand that their own well-being and safety had to come first. Our support empowered them to set healthy boundaries and make the difficult but necessary decision to end a relationship that was holding them back.
This case taught us that domestic violence isn't always physical. It can also be emotional, financial, and psychological. We are here to help people navigate these complex situations and reclaim their lives.
"The Impact of Your Support"
Law enforcement in Sonoma County responds to an average of 2,000 domestic violence-related calls each year. But for every person who makes that call, how many more can't? We are here for every victim who is silenced by fear, threats, or a lack of resources.
